Practices completed

  • Everything in one place. Yoga, Pilates, HIIT, meditation, and barre, from beginner to advanced.
  • Personal down to the playlist. Choose the pace, instructor's voice, and music, boost the areas you want to work on, and like or dislike specific poses.
  • Ready between classes, at home, or on the go. Practice on iOS, Android, or the web, with offline downloads on mobile.

Movement, on your terms

Wellbeing that works around class.

Early lectures, late labs, and exam weeks rarely line up. Give students and educators a practice they can fit into whatever time they have.

Study breaks

Step away from the desk for a while.

Make a short yoga practice or meditation part of the space between study sessions. Choose the time you have, from a quick pause to a longer practice.

Life across campus

Make movement fit the gaps.

A workout before a lecture or yoga back at home. Students can choose their level and focus without needing to make a scheduled class.

An extended community

Include more than the people on campus.

Give graduate students, commuters, and educators the same flexibility. Practice on iOS, Android, or the web, with offline downloads available on mobile.

Backed by published research

Support wellbeing beyond the classroom.

Give your community more ways to make movement part of campus life. Research using Down Dog's apps has explored burnout, depressive symptoms, and wellbeing.

Reducing burnout

In a randomized trial of 288 healthcare workers, 12 weeks with Down Dog's apps reduced depressive symptoms and burnout — less cynicism and less emotional exhaustion — while also reducing sick days.

Reducing depression

The COPE trial randomized community adults to at-home yoga and HIIT programs with our apps. Every active group saw significant reductions in depressive symptoms compared with waitlist controls.

Improved wellbeing

A follow-up analysis found the apps improved wellbeing — including flourishing and resilience — with the strongest gains for people who practiced both Yoga and HIIT.

How it works

One application.
A whole community can benefit.

Start with your institution's details. We'll help you take it from there.

  1. Tell us where you learn or teach.

Apply with your institution's website and email address. If you already use Down Dog with another email, include it so we can find your account.

  2. We check your institution.

We'll review the school and its email domain. If it's already approved, we'll send the next steps for your account.

  3. Get started, and spread the word.

Follow the instructions in your email to activate eligible access. Other eligible students and educators at your institution can benefit too.

The education program

Access that lasts beyond one semester.

Eligible university and college students and educators can receive up to four years of access through the education program. Existing access and eligibility determine the exact dates.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who can apply?
Students and educators at universities, colleges, and graduate programs can apply with an institutional email address. We review the institution and confirm eligibility before granting access.
Which email address should I use?
Use the email address issued by your school or institution. Personal email domains such as Gmail aren't eligible for the application. If your Down Dog account uses a different email, add it in the optional account field. That field can use a personal email address.
What if my school doesn't have a website, or I don't have a school email address?
We can only approve applications that include your institution's website and an email address issued by the institution. That's how we confirm the institution is real and that you study or teach there, so applications without them, or from personal email domains such as Gmail, can't be approved.
What if I already have a Down Dog account?
Include your existing account email so we can find it. We'll email the next steps. Existing access and any previous education trial affect what you're eligible for; applying does not automatically start a new trial.
Can I apply if my institution is already approved?
Yes. Use your institutional email address and we'll send the instructions for your account. You don't need to arrange a new partnership for an institution that's already eligible.
Do I need any yoga or fitness experience?
No. Choose beginner-friendly practices and adjust the length and level to suit you. Clear video and spoken instruction guide each practice.
